100 bloody grams

That's what I gained this week. All I needed was 200g to make my 20kg loss, but no, I have to gain 100 bloody grams! I knew it was coming. I had a reasonably big night on Friday, and I lost 2.4kg last week. Pretty much every time I've had a big loss one week, I'll stay around the same the following week. So next week it is! Or at least, it better be!

In the past I hate to admit but I probably would have been down on myself for having even such a tiny gain. But this week, I managed to take it all in my stride and just focus on getting to that goal of 20kg next week and literally doing every single damn thing I can think of to ensure it! My hubby has decided on a gym schedule for me, he's going to be setting the alarm for some ungodly hour like 5:30 each and every week day morning to get me up and moving on my wii fit, and he's helping me plan healthy meals and come up with some new snack ideas for the week. If I don't reach that milestone next week, I honestly won't have a clue what's going on! Thankfully all our social functions have pretty much come and gone, so the next few weekends should be reasonably alcohol free (nothing wrong with a glass of wine here and there....so long as it's not the whole bottle!) and since we don't have plans I'll be able to get some great workouts at the gym done on the weekends as well. I can already feel the next 5kg melting off me!

D-Day

Well, WI day really, but it feels like D-Day. I am so close to my 20kg loss that I can taste it (which might not be a good thing since I am trying to lose weight after all!). Just 200g. That's all I need. Surely I can pull that off? Well, if I hadn't gone out last Friday night I would have been pretty confident, but since I did go out and basically threw caution to the wind and had god knows how many drinks, I'm not feeling too confident at all. I have eaten well all week and exercised a fair bit, but given what I did on Friday night, and the fact that when I have such a big loss one week, I tend to either stay the same or gain the week after (and last week I lost 2.4kgs) I really don't know if I'll get there today. Guess I just have to wait and see - T minus 1 hour and 27 minutes!

Well at the request of Jetsetter Jess who left a comment for me last week, here is a recent photo (thanks for the comment Jess - you are doing awesome as well!). This is actually from Friday night from my work's social club trivia night - I was scanning through the photos as thumbnails and I actually didn't realise this was me. My face is soooo different! Be warned, I do look a little goofy (may have something to do with the vodka in my hand!) and it is a shocking photo, but it's the most recent I have. There are a few others from that night, but I don't think they should be displayed anywhere in public lol! I will always have chubby cheeks (apparently high cheekbones are a blessing, but for me they just leave me with chubby cheeks!), but my chins are gone so that has to be a good thing!

It's been a long time since I wasn't dreading seeing photos of myself, but I actually don't anymore. I don't think I'll ever become a camera whore, but it's good to know that you don't have to worry about that photo someone might have captured without you knowing meaning you didn't get a chance to position yourself in the best possible way so you looked....well, less fat! Not skinny, just less fat. I didn't know this picture was being taken, yet it looks better than others from a few months ago that I knew were being taken, so I've got to be happy about that!

Yuck

I found this photo of myself this morning. I was trying to look for some photos so I could truly prove to myself once and for all that I have in fact lost a lot of weight (cause apparently the scales aren't enough for me!). And boy did I find one.

This was taken at my husband's 30th birthday last year. Why I even kept the photo I don't know as it's absolutely hideous, but maybe I knew it would come in handy down the track. I can't believe that's me. I'm still a ways off goal, but the difference is unbelievable. I can't believe I thought I looked really nice that night. I may have from the front, but you can't hide that much fat from the side! The rolls of fat, the double (perhaps even quadruple!) chin....and the thing I notice the most is just how pale my skin is. Granted my husband's birthday is in June, but it's June now and my skin is so much healthier looking and actually has colour to it.

I'll try and take a photo from the same angle in the next few days to compare, but I don't even really need to, I can see it as soon as I look at the photo above. The photo in my profile was taken in October last year at a friend's wedding after I'd dropped quite a few kgs and I can see the difference in those, but I'm currently about 10kgs lighter again than that photo, so I can finally see that the difference is actually quite dramatic and people aren't lying to me when they tell me that I look like I've lost a lot of weight!

If I needed to motivation to keep going on this journey, I sure as shit found it lol!!!

I'm back - and with a vengeance!

Well it appears as though I've been a bit slack with this blog lately, doesn't it! I've been that busy at work and just haven't had the time, but I'm back and I'm back with a vengeance!

The last couple of weeks have been a bit up and down for me. The week after my last post I lost 100g. I did nothing wrong, my body just decided it had obviously had enough of losing weight right then! The week after that I gained 300g. Not completely unexpected as I had drunk a few wines the weekend before for my hubby's birthday, but I wouldn't have thought enough to cause a gain at all. I was also feeling really bloated for some reason, so I'm guessing that contributed.

Well this week I knew I'd lost something. My rings were looser again after being bloated the week before and I just felt like my tummy looked different. Was I right? You bet I was. I lost 2.4kgs this week!!! I couldn't believe it. I haven't exercised as much as I usually do this week as I've been a bit sick, so maybe my body just needed a change in routine to shake it up, even if it was to do less exercise. The human body works in mysterious ways I've discovered since starting WW! Not that I'm complaining about the loss at all, but if I'd just managed to get an extra 200g, I would have hit the 20k lost mark and earned my night out with hubby! Oh well, next week it will be then, that I am sure of.

This week will be a bit of a challenge for me. I have a work social function on Friday night which is a trivia night at a pub, then on Saturday hubby and I are going to the Good Food show which is normally a day of test tasting everything from wine to chocolates to god knows what! I think seeing as it's usually only tiny samples and I'll get a gym visit in beforehand, I'll be ok. Here's hoping, cause I'm really looking forward to my night out!
