How did I manage that?!

Another week, another loss. Another HUGE loss! 1.9kgs to be exact. I have no idea how I managed to pull that one out of the hat! The only thing that was really different about this week was that I got up early most mornings to do yoga on the wii and we played a bit of the wii sport game - the boxing especially which definitely gets the heart rate up - so I'm thinking that just that bit of extra movement has made the difference.

I set myself a goal when I got to 15kgs lost that I would try and lose 20kgs by my hubby's birthday. Well, that's next Saturday so I've got 2.4kgs to lose in between now and then....I don't like my chances! But I'm going to do everything I can to get as close as I can. I didn't think I'd have lost this much weight in this amount of time, so even if I don't get to the 20kg mark by next week, I'm still very happy with what I've achieved so far. I've never lost this much weight before, and I've never stuck to WW for this long before, so all in all I'm feeling very proud of myself right now. Hubby has promised me a day and night out in the city, including staying at a swank hotel and some kind of surprise when I reach the 20kg mark, so you can understand why I'm in a bit of a hurry lol!

Today we have mufti at work and I wore some new clothes I bought the other day (including a bright aqua top which once upon a time I would have steered well clear of!) with a great pair of jeans that I fit back into and a great pair of black suede boots that I bought the other day as well. I'm wearing different earrings, I even straightened my hair this morning (something I'm rarely up early enough to do through the week!) and you know what? I can honestly say that I know I look nice. Today is the first time in a long time, probably many years that I feel confident and feel good about myself. It's been a long time since I could say that about myself, if I ever could and as sad as it makes me that I've felt that way, I'm so happy that I'm finally starting to turn that around. I still have a ways to go, but today nothing could hold me back from thinking that I KNOW I will get there. I obviously know what to do, I just have to keep doing it.

Scales went down again!

Have been a bit slack and haven't updated from last week's weigh in yet. Well obviously, it was a good one - I lost 1.1kgs. So that certainly makes up for the week before where I gained 600g. May has been a bit difficult for me for some reason. Not for my exercise or diet, I've been well on top of that, but for my body. I've still managed to lose 2.2kgs since the end of April, but for my body, that's actually a bit slow. The first week of May I had a great loss. Then I had my gain of 600g, and then another good loss. I just feel like I'm hovering around 15kgs lost and can't seem to shake it. My ticker shows that I have 30.4kgs left to lose. What I wouldn't give this week for a 500g loss, just to see the number 2 at the start of that number! Here's hoping come Wednesday I can pull it out of the bag.

Had a pretty good weekend. Family bbq on Saturday which was good fun. Had already been to the gym and for a walk when we got there, but we also played on the wii so we could show my dad and step mum what it was like as they are thinking about getting one. Drank WAY less than I usually do, and it was low alcohol wine so I'm pretty comfortable with what I did. Dinner was grilled chicken kebabs and roast veg salad, so again I'm happy with that.

Went shopping on Saturday morning for some new trousers for work. I managed to get a size 18 from the 'normal' section in Target, not an 18 from the plus size section so I was VERY happy about that! They look really good too, not baggy around the legs and bum like my old pairs which made me look even fatter. Also got some new undies in a size 14 (bit too much info perhaps?!)! I really don't understand how sizing works - how can 2 things that go basically in the same area be so different in sizing?! Either way, I'm happy! I can't wait to keep seeing the sizes on my clothing go down, although given how much I love shopping, it could be a very costly exercise!

Weekend away

Had a wonderful weekend away in the Blue Mountains with hubby. Apart from the damn cold that is. It got to 7 degrees on Sunday. That was it. 7 lousy degrees. I was so rugged up I could barely walk and looked like the Michelin Man, but hey, at least I was somewhat warm!

Didn't overindulge too much...had a wonderful hot chocolate made purely of melted chocolate and milk, and a few glasses of wine, but I figure with the amount of walking we did I should be able to make up for it! Went to the gym before we left on Friday morning, and did a bushwalk that day so I got up to 22,000+ steps that day, and did nearly 20,000 both Saturday and Sunday with a few more bushwalks.
Hubby took this photo of me near Leura Cascades. Apart from the slight (ok, maybe a bit more than slight lol!) roll of fat on my tummy, this is probably one of the best photos I've taken in a while. I can finally really see that I've lost weight. I have known all along that I have, but because I couldn't see it, I thought maybe it was all a dream. Stupid I know! Who would have known I actually have a collar bone!!!
Also bought the Nintendo Wii and the wiifit game on the weekend and have been having a blast playing that. I did the boxing last night - I think I scared my hubby with how aggressive I was!! He also wasn't impressed that I was waaaay better than him on the baseball game but he'll just have to get over it! Have done the yoga which was great, could definitely feel it working that's for sure. After playing the boxing and tennis, I was actually pretty puffed and had worked up a nice sweat, so I think it'll be a really useful tool for me in my weight loss. And now when I have my RDO's, I don't have to get up early to take hubby to work so I can have the car to get to the gym - now I can just stay home and exercise so I'll actually get days off now!
Have weigh in tomorrow. Should be ok as my exercise has been off the charts, but whatever happens, happens.

Weigh in day

Well today is weigh in day for me and I'm feeling very unsure about it (what a surprise!). I have had a stomach upset for the last couple of days (I'll spare you the gory details!) and I just don't know if I've lost any weight. I've been good with my food, been to the gym 5 times and have been getting in a lot of incidental exercise, but I just can't tell if I feel any different to last week. I guess only time will tell, so I'll be sure to post an update later!

**UPDATE**

Gained 600g. That sucks. So now I'm bang on having lost 15kgs. Thank god I didn't go under that, I would have been SOOOO annoyed. Having a look at my weigh in journal, it appears as though I gain every 5 weeks, which is weird as that has nothing to do with TOTM, so I don't know what it is. Maybe it's just my body catching up with the previous weeks losses, I don't know. All I know is I can't sulk about it, I just have to get to the gym tonight and make sure the scales go down next week!

Hubby and I are off to the Blue Mountains this weekend. We've planned a couple of bushwalks so hopefully the weather is kind and it isn't too bloody cold! Where we are staying is self contained, so we can make our own meals which is good. I think if we had to eat out for every meal, just after I'd had a gain, it probably would have done my head in so I'm glad I can completely control everything that I eat. We'll probably take a couple of bottles of wine and have a few glasses by the fire (awww, how romantic!) but I'm pretty sure that 5 hours of bushwalking will undo any potential damage that might cause!

The scales WILL be going down next week, mark my words!

I'm on a roll!!

Weigh in today and happy to report another loss - down 1.7kgs this week (exactly the same amount as last week strangely!) taking my total to 15.6kgs lost. To say I'm feeling good is an understatement. I've NEVER lost this much before, and I'm more determined than ever to keep going.

I've been sick for a few days meaning I couldn't get to the gym this week as often as I've become accustomed to, so wasn't really expecting too much from the scales. When I saw the number I was absolutely ecstatic with myself. I lost the exact same amount of weight this week as I did last week. I'm not sure when the numbers are going to slow down, I'm sure they have to some time soon, but I'm not going to complain until that time comes!

Have a pretty quiet week this week thankfully, so I can just give myself time to rest and recover from this damn infection I have and hopefully get in some light gym sessions. I was running 10 minutes straight and then doing interval running meaning I was sometimes running 25 minutes in a gym session, but I think it will be a little while before my lungs are up to that again which really annoys me. But I'm not going to let it get the better of me and I'll just take it easy and get myself back there soon enough.
